Terms of Use – PIK Atmospheric River Trajectories (PIKART) Catalog

The PIKART catalog was developed at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) and is maintained in a collaboration with the University Leipzig. It is made publicly available to support research, educational, and risk management purposes. Before using the data, we ask users to read the following Terms of Use carefully.

1. Purpose and Scope

The PIKART catalog provides information about the occurrence and characteristics of Atmospheric Rivers (ARs) based on the ERA5 reanalysis. It was developed in-house and may contain errors or inefficiencies. The catalog is intended primarily for non-commercial scientific, educational, and risk management use.

We encourage users to explore the data, cite the relevant publications, and contribute suggestions or report issues via our GitHub repository. Please consult the documentation and associated publication before using the dataset.
